While the leaves are sweet and tender, they are also high in protein providing huge tonnage of easily digestible browse. Winter Peas can be over grazed and that’s why we blended them with Daikon Radish. Daikon Radish will sprout quickly with their leaves also providing high protein levels while the peas continue to mature. But the benefits of radishes aren’t just in the leaves. Their long deep taproot can help break up the hardest clay soils introducing beneficial organic matter. And when the temperatures drop, the sugar and starch in the taproots become a favorite high calorie food source for your deer during the winter months.
